Functions


The Vice-rectorate for Research has the following functions:

  • The proposal, promotion, execution and dissemination of research policies, ensuring compliance in coordination with the Vice-rectorate for Technology Transfer and Innovation.
  • The preparation and coordination of our own plans for research improvements.
  • The planning, coordination and supervision of the activities of researchers from research institutes and centres, in coordination with the Vice-rectorate for Technology Transfer and Innovation.
  • The direction and promotion of central and peripheral research support services.
  • Information, advice and support for teaching and research staff in research management in collaboration with the Vice-rectorate for Technology Transfer and Innovation.
  • The definition, together with the Vice-rectorate for Technology Transfer and Innovation, of the strategic lines in terms of R+D+i of the Campus of Excellence.
  • The participation, together with the Vice-rectorate for Technology Transfer and Innovation, in the design of the internationalisation policy for research, within the framework of the internationalisation plan of the University of Cadiz, coordinated by the Directorate General for International Relations.
  • The promotion of scientific relations, establishment of cooperation programmes and the creation of national and international scientific networks with national and foreign research institutions, with the participation of the Vice-rectorate for Transference in Technological Innovation and the coordination of the Directorate General for International Relations.
  • The coordination of the preparation of the Research Report of the University of Cadiz and the follow-up of the results of R&D&I in coordination with the Vice-rectorate for Technology Transfer and Innovation.
  • The coordination of the research indicators system of the University of Cadiz.
  • Collaboration with the Vice-rectorate for Planning in the integration of research activities in academic training and in the design of a training offer linked to research institutes and centres, promoting their internationalisation.
  • The coordination of the activities of popularization and scientific communication in coordination with the Office of Communication and Marketing.
  • The participation in the personnel policy of the teaching and research staff designed by the Vice-rectorate for Academic and Personal Development.
    Collaboration with the Directorate General for Infrastructure and Heritage in the detection of needs and requests for scientific equipment and infrastructure.
  • Collaboration with the Vice-rectorate for Teaching Resources and Communication in activities aimed at meeting the needs of new technologies applied to research.
  • The promotion, together with the Vice-rectorate for Teaching Resources and Communication, of the organization of courses and training activities in research.
  • Collaboration with the Vice-rectorate for Students in the comprehensive training of students through measures designed to facilitate their incorporation into research activities.
  • Technical coordination of the Campus of International Excellence of the Sea, CEIMAR at the University of Cadiz.
